GOL Advances in Project to Establish LCC in Mexico
São Paulo, September 19, 2005 – GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes (NYSE: GOL and Bovespa: GOLL4), Brazil’s low-fare, low-cost airline, together with Fernando Chico Pardo and a group of Mexican investors, submitted to the Mexican Civil Aviation Authorities a preliminary business plan for its proposed low cost carrier (LCC). GOL and its Mexican partners are working to complete agreements and apply for the necessary licenses to own, manage and operate an LCC in Mexico, as set forth in Mexican Aviation Law and other applicable regulations. Plans are to commence flights in the Mexican market in the second quarter of 2006.
