Item 5. Other Events
On April 27, 2000 Sempra Energy announced consolidated net income of
$113 million, or 49 cents per diluted share of common stock, for the
three months ended March 31, 2000, representing a 14-percent increase
from consolidated net income of $99 million, or 42 cents per diluted
share, for the three months ended March 31, 1999.
