On August 16, 2006, Ameriana Bancorp (the "Company"), issued a press
release announcing that its wholly owned subsidiary, Ameriana Bank and Trust,
SB, has expanded its commercial lending department with the hiring of two new
lending officers. Timothy M. Ogburn and Stephen L. Kaiser have been added to
the commercial lending department as Vice Presidents. For more information,
reference is made to the Company's press release dated August 16, 2006, a copy
of which is attached to this Report as Exhibit 99.1 and is furnished herewith.
