On August 31, 2009, Ameriana Bancorp (the "Company"), the holding
company for Ameriana Bank, issued a press release announcing that it had reduced
its quarterly cash dividend on the Company's common stock to $0.01 per share.

August 31, 2009, a copy of which is attached to this Report as Exhibit 99.1 and
is furnished herewith.
