Net income for the quarter ended December 31, 2002 was $204,000 or $0.15 basic and diluted earnings per share, compared with $161,000 or $0.12 basic and diluted earnings per share for the same period in 2001. This represents a 27% increase in net income. The Corporation's year to date net income for the six months ended December 31, 2002 was $417,000 or $0.31 basic and diluted earnings per share compared with $299,000 or $0.22 basic and diluted earnings per share for the same period in 2001. The increase in net income is attributed to an increase in net interest income resulting from a decrease in interest expense on deposits and borrowed funds partially offset by a decrease in interest income on loans. On January 9, 2003 the Board of Directors declared a dividend of $0.12 per share for record holders as of January 31, 2003. This represents a 9% increase in the regular quarterly dividend and is the fifth increase since the Corporation became a public company in 1997. This dividend will be payable on February 15, 2003.
