On June 8, 2009, New England Bancshares, Inc. (the "Company") issued a
press release announcing that they have completed the acquisition of The Apple
Valley Bank & Trust Company through the merger of The Apple Valley Bank & Trust
Company with and into the Company's wholly owned banking subsidiary, New England
Bank. A copy of the Company's press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this
report.
