On April 28, 1998, GIANT GROUP, LTD., (the "Registrant"), sold its company plane, a Gulfstream IISP acquired in 1991, for a net sales price of approximately $6.2 million for cash, to an unrelated purchaser. (b) Pro Forma Financial Information The unaudited pro forma effect of the plane sale on the Registrant's Consolidated Balance Sheet as of December 31, 1997 would be a decrease in property and equipment, net of approximately $3.4 million and an increase in cash and marketable securities of approximately $6.2 million, as the Registrant would recognize a gain on the sale of approximately $2.8 million pre-tax.
