Restaurant in the San Jose, California, Market


    CALABASAS HILLS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 6, 2003--The
Cheesecake Factory Incorporated (Nasdaq:CAKE) announced the opening of
its newest restaurant at Westfield Shoppingtown Oakridge in San Jose,
California, on October 3, 2003. The uniquely designed restaurant
contains approximately 12,600 square feet and 360 seats.
    "Initial sales have been very strong at our new San Jose
restaurant," said David Overton, Chairman and CEO. "We currently plan
to open additional restaurants in the Northern California market
during the next few years."
    The Cheesecake Factory Incorporated operates 67 upscale, casual
dining restaurants under The Cheesecake Factory(R) name that offer an
extensive menu of more than 200 items with an average check of
approximately $15.78. The Company also operates a bakery production
facility that produces over 50 varieties of quality cheesecakes and
other baked products for the Company's restaurants and for other
leading foodservice operators, retailers and distributors.

restaurants under the Grand Lux Cafe(R) name in Los Angeles, Chicago
and Las Vegas; one self-service, limited menu "express" foodservice

licenses three bakery cafe outlets to another foodservice operator
