       Van der Moolen Announces Litigation Sea Carrier Case

    AMSTERDAM, Netherlands--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 5, 2007--Together
with NYSE Euronext, other New York Stock Exchange specialists and
several large brokerage firms Van der Moolen Specialists USA was
served with a summons by Sea Carrier LP I and others to appear before
the US District Court for the Southern District of New York. This
action was already mentioned on page 80 of Van der Moolen's form 20-F
2006.

    Van der Moolen trades on the leading US and European equity,
option and fixed income exchanges. The group trades in open outcry and
electronic markets in several time zones. On the NYSE, Van der Moolen
currently has a market share of nearly 11% of transaction volume for
which it acts as specialist. Van der Moolen's traders worldwide
