Item 7.01 Regulation FD Disclosure.
On December 12, 2005, Conseco, Inc. launched an amendment to increase its
existing senior secured Credit Agreement by $80 million. The proceeds from the
amendment will be used to increase the capital and surplus of its insurance
subsidiaries and for general corporate purposes. Conseco has engaged Banc of
America Securities LLC and J.P. Morgan Securities Inc. to act as joint lead
arrangers and joint bookrunners in connection with this amendment.
