   GLOBAL PARTNERS DECLARES INCREASED CASH DISTRIBUTION FOR THE THIRD QUARTER
                                     OF 2006

    WALTHAM, Mass., Oct. 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Global Partners LP (NYSE:
GLP) today announced that it has declared a quarterly cash distribution of
$0.4450 per unit for the period from July 1, 2006 through September 30, 2006
($1.78 per unit on an annualized basis). The distribution will be paid November
14, 2006 to unitholders of record as of the close of business November 3, 2006.

    The distribution to be paid in November 2006 represents an increase of 1.7%
over the August 2006 distribution of $0.4375 per unit. The quarterly
distribution for the Partnership has increased by 7.9% since Global Partners
LP's initial public offering in September 2005.
