- Risks related to the development of our product candidates
- We are very early in our development efforts and are substantially dependent on our clinical-stage product candidates, BDTX-1535 and BDTX-4933. If we are unable to advance BDTX-1535, BDTX-4933 or any of our other product candidates through clinical development, obtain regulatory approval and ultimately commercialize BDTX-1535, BDTX-4933 or any of our other product candidates, or experience significant delays in doing so, our business will be materially harmed.
- Difficulty in enrolling patients could delay or prevent clinical trials of our product candidates. We may find it difficult to enroll patients in our Phase 2 clinical trial for BDTX-1535 or our Phase 1 clinical trial for BDTX-4933 with the genetic mutations these product candidates are designed to target.

Management Discussion
- The decrease of $5.1 million was primarily due to an increase of $12.7 million related to the progression of our clinical trial for BDTX-1535, offset by decreased spend relating to other research programs and platform development of $5.6 million due to reduced spending on early discovery projects as we deepen our focus on our clinical-stage assets. In addition, BDTX-189 expenses decreased $7.1 million due to the discontinuation of the development of BDTX-189 to focus on the development of BDTX-1535 and BDTX-4933. Personnel expenses decreased $4.5 million as a result of the realignment of our workforce in April 2022 to focus on upcoming milestones for our clinical trials.
- General and administrative expenses were $27.1 million for the year ended December 31, 2023, compared to $28.4 million for the year ended December 31, 2022. The decrease of $1.3 million was primarily due to a decrease in legal and other professional fees.
