Item 8.01 Other Events
On October 28, 2019, Baxter International Inc. (the “Company”) announced the appointment of Karen L. Leets as Treasurer. Ms. Leets most recently served as Assistant Treasurer, Treasury Operations with Alphabet Inc. She has over 25 years of Treasury experience, including as Vice President and Treasurer at Kimberly-Clark Corporation (2013 – 2017) and USG Corporation (2003 – 2013). She is a Certified Public Accountant. The Company expects that Ms. Leets will serve in this interim role while she assists the Company with its ongoing evaluation of internal controls, among other things.
