Item 2.02 Results of Operations and Financial Condition.
On February 6, 2017, Eastern Virginia Bankshares, Inc. (the “Company”) issued a press release (the “Press Release”) announcing the Company’s financial results as of and for the period ended December 31, 2016. A copy of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 to this report and is incorporated by reference into this Item 2.02.
Item 8.01 Other Events.
The Company also announced in the Press Release that its Board of Directors declared a cash dividend of $0.03 per share to holders of record of common stock and Series B Preferred Stock as of February 17, 2017, payable on March 3, 2017. A copy of the Press Release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 to this report and is incorporated by reference into this Item 8.01.
