Dividends
On January 30, 2020, our Board of Directors declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.63 per share on our common stock to stockholders of record at the close of business on February 14, 2020, resulting in a dividend payment of $30.0 million on March 19, 2020.
On April 23, 2020, our Board of Directors declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.21 per share on our common stock to stockholders of record at the close of business on May 14, 2020, resulting in a dividend payment of $10.0 million on June 18, 2020.
On July 23, 2020, our Board of Directors declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.21 per share on our common stock to stockholders of record at the close of business on August 14, 2020, resulting in a dividend payment of $10.0 million on September 18, 2020.
On October 29, 2020, our Board of Directors declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.21 per share on our common stock to stockholders of record at the close of business on November 13, 2020, with a dividend payment date of December 18, 2020.
Additionally, we paid $0.5 million in cash related to dividend equivalent rights for the nine months ended September 30, 2020.
Critical Accounting Policies and Estimates
With the exception of the adoption of ASC 326, there have been no significant changes to our critical accounting policies and estimates from the information provided in Item 7, “Management’s Discussion and Analysis of Financial Condition and Results of Operations,” included in our Annual Report filed on Form 10-K for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2019. Market Risk
Market risk is the risk of loss from adverse changes in market prices and rates. Our primary market risks include interest rate risk, credit risk, and foreign currency exchange rate risk.
Except for the broad, continuing negative impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the global economy and major financial markets and the risk factors described in Part II Item 1A included in this report, there has been no other material change from our Annual Report on Form 10-K for the year ended December 31, 2019 or our Quarterly Reports on Form 10-Q for the quarters ended March 31, 2020 and June 30, 2020 related to our exposure to market risk from interest rate risk, credit risk, and foreign currency exchange rate risk.

As of September 30, 2020, we carried out an evaluation, under the supervision and with the participation of our management, including our Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer, of the effectiveness of the design and operation of our disclosure controls and procedures pursuant to Rule 13a-15 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. Based upon that evaluation, our Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer concluded that as of September 30,
