On September 19, 2024 (US Central Time), Tadano Ltd. issued the following document to its customers.
Dear valued Tadano customer,
If you have not already heard, I have some exciting news to share with you. On Thursday, September 12, Tadano announced it will acquire Manitex International, Inc. Tadano first invested in Manitex in 2018, and we currently hold 14.5% of the shares. Tadano’s plan is to acquire all outstanding shares of Manitex we currently do not own.
This is in line with Tadano’s growth strategy objective of venturing into new areas within the industry. The Manitex acquisition will help us to further diversify our product portfolio, while remaining 100% committed to lifting equipment.
The exciting news for you, our customer – this enables Tadano to support you with a broader portfolio of products to forge a deeper relationship and better serve your lifting equipment needs. Combining the strength of a broader range of equipment – from crawler cranes to aerial work platforms to small electric cranes – the acquisition opens new doors for our customers.
If you are not familiar with the line, Manitex is a leading provider of…
• | Mobile truck cranes under the Manitex brand |
• | Knuckle boom cranes under the PM brand |
• | Small electric cranes under the Valla brand |
• | Aerial work platforms under the Oil & Steel brand |
• | Industrial lifting and rental solutions |
The transaction is anticipated to close in the first quarter of 2025, subject to approval by Manitex shareholders, receipt of regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions.
I am thrilled about the opportunities the Manitex acquisition provides our customers, Tadano and the lifting industry.
All the best,
Dean…
