Additionally, the success of video streaming platforms has led to changes in the way studios release movies, as consumers watch more films from home on streaming video services. As a result, several studios have released movies in the form of Premium Video on Demand (PVoD) services. Deloitte found that 22% of consumers had paid to rent or watch a PVoD movie, and 90% of those said they would do so again. Viewership has also grown, with 35% of consumers saying that they’ve watched a PVoD release.
Our Management Team
Our management team is led by Matthew Hong, our Chairman and the former Chief Operating Officer of Turner Sports, and seasoned executives Thomas Bushey, our Chief Executive Officer, and Kenneth King, our Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Bushey and Mr. King have decades of experience identifying, acquiring, investing in and operating businesses, and provide depth of knowledge in capital markets. Over the course of their careers, they have developed an extensive and broad network of business operators, entrepreneurs, corporate officers, board members, family office principals, investment bankers and institutional investors.
The board is joined by widely respected consumer internet and media veterans Jennifer Vescio, Global Head of Business Development at Uber Technologies Inc., and Teddy Zee, a well-known Hollywood television and film producer. Together, the team has a history of focused, flexible and patient capital investments and operational experience in consumer internet and media companies that have significant potential for long-term value creation.
Supporting the management team and board of directors are a deep bench of advisors who we expect to play a critical role in widening the reach and operational expertise of the group. Our advisors are led by Kenneth Ng who has a track record in SPACs with Bridgetown Holdings Limited (Nasdaq: BTWN) and Malacca Straits Acquisition Company Limited (Nasdaq: MLAC), Ted Seides, the founder of Capital Allocators LLC who hosts the Capital Allocators podcast, serves as an advisor to allocators and asset managers, helps asset managers convey their story through private podcasts, and educates investors, and Katie Soo, Senior Vice President at HBO Max who brings deep operational expertise in technology and media to the team.
We believe our team’s hands-on experience in SPACs will enable us to deliver a smooth and swift process in the de-spac process, including target selection, negotiation, transaction structuring, capital raising and merger execution.

During Mr. Hong’s 11 years at the company, Turner Sports presented premium sporting events including NBA, the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship (March Madness), MLB, NASCAR, the PGA Championship, the Open Championship, ELEAGUE professional esports, and UEFA Champions League across TNT, TBS and truTV. Mr. Hong oversaw the management of various sports businesses including Bleacher Report, NBA TV, NBA Digital, NCAA Digital and March Madness Live, SI Digital, NASCAR.com, PGATOUR.com, PGA.com, and GOLF.com.
Throughout his Turner career, Mr. Hong was closely associated with or led several milestones for the company including the original and current NCAA rights agreements, the current renewal of Turner’s partnership with the NBA, the acquisition of Bleacher Report, and the acquisition of UEFA Champions League rights.
Mr. Hong joined Turner Sports in 2008 after previous executive positions at Thomson and AOL. While at AOL, Mr. Hong architected and oversaw the company’s multi-billion dollar partnership with, and equity stake in, Google, and managed the Search business across the AOL portfolio of properties.
