Item 2.02. Results of Operations and Financial Condition.
On April 24, 2008, we issued a press release announcing our financial results for our third quarter ended March 31, 2008. The full text of the press release is furnished with this Current Report on Form 8-K as Exhibit 99.
In a conference call discussing the press release, management disclosed certain information which may be considered important to certain shareholders.
Backlog as of March 31, 2008 was $43.4 million compared to $44.8 million as of March 31, 2007. Intersection Control backlog increased to $28.5 million compared to $27.6 million last year. The backlog for the Protect and Direct segment decreased to $6.9 million from $9.2 million last year. For the Inform segment, backlog increased slightly to $8 million.
Sales for the Intersection Control segment for the third quarter of fiscal 2008 were $7 million. The quarterly sales level for the segment to record break-even profit is currently expected to be between $9 and $10 million depending on several factors including product sales mix.
