Item 5. Other Events.
On April 14, 2004, Connetics Corporation announced that it expects to report a profit for the first quarter of 2004 of $0.02 to $0.03 per diluted share, as compared with prior first quarter guidance for a loss per share of $(0.02) to $(0.03).
