Item 4.01. Changes in Registrant's Certifying Accountant.
(b) Engagement of New Independent Registered Public Accounting Firm
On June 16, 2021, Unico American Corporation (the “Company”) engaged Marcum LLP (“Marcum”), as the Company's independent registered public accounting firm for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2021. The Audit Committee of the Board of Directors of the Company approved Marcum's engagement on June 11, 2021, subject to the standard client approval procedures of Marcum and execution of an engagement letter.
During the fiscal years ended December 31, 2020 and December 31, 2019, and the subsequent interim period through June 16, 2021, neither the Company nor anyone acting on its behalf has consulted with Marcum on any of the matters or events set forth in Item 304(a)(2)(i) or 304(a)(2)(ii) of Regulation S-K.
