Item 8.01 Other Events.
On August 4, 2014, Highlands Bankshares, Inc. (the “Company”) announced the extension of its rights offering to September 3, 2014. The rights offering was originally scheduled to expire on August 4, 2014. A copy of the Company’s press release announcing the extension of the rights offering is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
