Item 7.01. Regulation FD Disclosure.
On December 16, 2014, Salix Pharmaceuticals, Ltd. (“Salix” or the “Company”) issued a press release announcing: (i) its plan to accelerate the reduction of wholesaler inventory levels of XIFAXAN® 550, APRISO® and UCERIS® to Salix’s target of approximately three months by the end of 2015; (ii) the Food and Drug Administration’s extension of the Prescription Drug User Fee Act Action Date for XIFAXAN® 550 for the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhea to May 27, 2015; and (iii) the Company’s preliminary guidance for full years 2015 and 2016. A copy of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
