Renaissance Learning, Inc. Declares Special Cash Dividend of $.75 and
Quarterly Dividend of $.07
WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI — October 22, 2008 — Renaissance Learning®, Inc. (Nasdaq: RLRN), a leading provider of technology to support personalized practice, differentiated instruction, and progress monitoring in reading, math, and writing for pre-K–12 schools and districts, announced that its Board of Directors declared a special cash dividend of $.75 per share in addition to its regular quarterly cash dividend of $.07 per share, both payable December 1, 2008 to shareholders of record as of November 7, 2008. “Today’s Board action is a reflection of our confidence in our business model and in our long-term growth prospects. Because of our solid financial strength and strong cash flow, the Board believes that distributing cash to shareholders is a good use of cash to enhance shareholder value,” commented Terrance D. Paul, Chief Executive Officer.
