Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Principal Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Principal Officers.
(b) On May 16, 2006, Robert N. Pokelwaldt, Paul J. Powers and Dr. Patricia K. Woolf retired from the Board of Directors of FirstEnergy Corp. Their terms as directors ended with the 2006 annual meeting of shareholders, and they are retiring in accordance with Board membership policies.
