Bay Banks of Virginia, Inc. (OTCBB: BAYK, the “Company”), parent company of Bank of Lancaster and Bay Trust Company, announced Robert J. Wittman resigned as a member of the company’s Board of Directors effective January 22, 2010. In his notification to the company, Mr. Wittman noted it has been an honor to work with the Bay Banks Board in guiding the Company to success. However, his duties and responsibilities as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives serving Virginia’s First District and the Country, have grown since he took office in 2007. Additionally, because of the many challenges surrounding banking and financial services reform legislation, Mr. Wittman stated he wanted to ensure he is in the position to focus on developing good public policy in these areas, without the perception of conflict, and for these reasons, he is resigning from the Board.
