Explanation of Responses:

1. Each restricted stock unit (RSU) represents a contingent right to receive one share of ALV common stock.

2. Dividend equivalent rights accrued in the form of additional RSUs. Per the award agreement, cash dividends with a record date on or after the grant date and paid on or before the vesting date yield additional RSUs subject to the same vesting schedule as the underlying RSUs.

3. PSU awards granted in February 2021 are comprised of three separate one-year performance periods for each of calendar years 2021, 2022 and 2023. All PSUs will vest following 2023, to the extent earned and subject to the reporting person's continued employment. Reflects the PSUs that were earned over the first one-year performance period (January 1, 2021 - December 31, 2021) based on the level of achievement of pre-determined performance goals related to (i) Order Intake (30%), and (ii) Earnings Per Share (70%). The goals were achieved above the threshold level.

4. The PSUs, as adjusted if necessary, vest and convert to shares in one installment after the completion of the three-year performance period ending December 31, 2023 and the Leadership Development and Compensation Committee's certification of the level of achievement of the applicable performance objectives.
