ITEM 2.02 FINANCIAL INFORMATION
On January 19, 2005, People’s Community Capital Corporation (“PCCC”), holding company for People’s Community Bank of South Carolina (“PCB”), issued a press release announcing its financial results for the year ended December 31, 2004. A copy of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
Proxy Statement
PCCC intends to file a proxy statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) in connection with the proposed merger of PCCC and PCB with and into First Citizens Bank and Trust Company, Inc. (“FCB”), which merger was announced on October 18, 2004. INVESTORS AND SECURITY HOLDERS OF PCCC ARE URGED TO READ THE PROXY STATEMENT WHEN IT BECOMES AVAILABLE BECAUSE IT WILL CONTAIN IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT PCCC, FCB AND THE MERGER. The proxy statement and other relevant materials (when they become available), and any other documents filed by PCCC or FCB with the SEC, may be obtained free of charge at the SEC’s web site at www.sec.gov.
