Item 8.01 Other Events.
On September 24, 2007, First BanCorp. (the “Corporation”) announced that it filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (the “SEC”) the quarterly reports on Form 10-Q for the fiscal quarters ended March 31, 2007 and June 30, 2007. With these filings the Corporation becomes current in SEC and New York Stock Exchange financial reporting requirements. A copy of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
