On January 28, 2010, Satélites Mexicanos, S.A. de C.V.,a Sociedad Anónima de Capital Variable (“Satmex”), issued a press release announcing an unexpected shutdown of the primary xenon ion propulsion system (“XIPS”) on its satellite Satmex 5, which is in geostationary orbit at 116.8° W.L.
