(b) | On November 16, 2007, Todd G. Helvie tendered notice of resignation from his position as Senior Vice President and Controller of United Rentals, Inc. (the “Company”). Mr. Helvie voluntarily elected to leave the Company and is relocating to Ohio to take a senior position with another company. His resignation is expected to be effective at or around the end of this month or the first week of December. | |

Attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and incorporated herein by reference is a copy of a press release issued by the Company on November 21, 2007 announcing the extension of the expiration date of the previously announced debt tender offers and consent solicitations being made by United Rentals (North America), Inc., the Company’s wholly owned subsidiary, in connection with the Agreement and Plan of Merger, dated as of July 22, 2007, by and among RAM Holdings, Inc., RAM Acquisition Corp. and the Company.
