Item 1.01 Entry into a Material Definitive Agreement.
On July 11, 2006 the Compensation and Personnel Committee of the Board of Directors of Alaska Communications Systems Group, Inc. approved the 2006 Officer Severance Plan, which provides certain severance benefits to officers of the company not otherwise party to an employement or like agreement with the company. The form of 2006 Officer Severance Plan is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and incorporated herein by reference.
