Item 2.05 | Costs Associated with Exit or Disposal Activities |
On November 5, 2008, Intersil Corporation issued a press release announcing a restructuring plan to reduce its global workforce by approximately 9% and reduce overall operating costs by $12 to $14 million. Under the plan, we expect to incur employee severance costs of approximately $4 million and asset impairment and other related costs of $16-19 million. The plan will be substantially complete by the end of 2008. Severance pay and career transition services will be offered to all affected employees. A copy of the press release is furnished as Exhibit 99.1 to this report pursuant to Item 2.05 and Regulation FD.
