Item 8.01 Other Events.
On July 6, 2015, TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. (the "Company") issued a press release announcing that its Board of Directors has established a Special Committee comprised solely of independent directors to explore strategic alternatives to enhance stockholder value. As the Company indicated in the press release, there can be no assurance that the evaluation of strategic alternatives will result in the Company pursuing a particular transaction or completing any such transaction.
A copy of the press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K and is incorporated herein by reference.
