On December 20, 2011, Targacept, Inc. and AstraZeneca announced via press release top-line results from RENAISSANCE study 2, a Phase 3 clinical trial of TC-5214 as an adjunct to antidepressant therapy for patients with major depressive disorder who do not respond adequately to initial antidepressant treatment.
