ODYSSEY HEALTHCARE ANNOUNCES $10 MILLION STOCK
REPURCHASE PROGRAM
DALLAS, TEXAS (November 21, 2006)—Odyssey HealthCare, Inc. (NASDAQ: ODSY), one of the largest providers of hospice care in the United States, today announced that it intends to repurchase up to $10 million of its common stock. The Company said that it intends to conduct the stock repurchase program in the open market over the next twelve months. The timing and the amount of any repurchase of shares during the twelve-month period will be determined by Company management based on its evaluation of market conditions and other factors. Odyssey had approximately 34.3 million shares outstanding as of September 30, 2006.
The Company also announced that its Bryan-College Station, Texas hospice program was certified to accept Medicare patients in November 2006.
Based in Dallas, Texas, Odyssey has 82 Medicare-certified hospice programs in 30 states. In terms of both average daily patient census and number of locations, the Company is one of the largest providers of hospice care in the country. Odyssey seeks to improve the quality of life of terminally ill patients and their families by providing care directed at managing pain and other discomforting symptoms and by addressing the psychosocial and spiritual needs of patients and their families.
