Item 2.05 | Costs Associated with Exit or Disposal Activities |
On December 14, 2006, we announced that we had decided to implement changes in our SchoolHouse division to return it to profitability and more closely align it with our consumer strategy. These changes, which are expected to reduce the division’s operating expenses by approximately one-half, will involve, among other things, a headcount reduction of about 60 people. As a result of these changes, the implementation of which is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2007, we expect to incur a charge in the fourth quarter of 2006 of approximately $3 million, approximately equally divided between personnel termination costs and write-downs of excess and obsolete inventory. We expect approximately one-half of this charge to result in future cash expenditures.
