On July 30, 2013, Optimer Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a Delaware corporation (“Optimer”), issued a press release announcing, among other things, certain preliminary operating results relating to net product sales, net revenues, cash and net loss per share for the quarter ended June 30, 2013. A copy of this press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.

On July 30, 2013, Optimer issued a press release announcing, among other things, entry into a merger agreement with Cubist Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (“Cubist”) and PDRS Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cubist. A copy of this press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1, and the section thereof corresponding to such announcement is hereby incorporated herein by reference.
