Item 7.01. Regulation FD Disclosure.
On September 21, 2012, Hampton Roads Bankshares, Inc. (the “Company”), the holding company for The Bank of Hampton Roads and Shore Bank, announced that it has completed the sale of the Gateway Bank & Trust Company branches located at 4725 SW Cary Parkway in Cary, NC and 504 Meadowmont Village Circle in Chapel Hill, NC to Bank of North Carolina.
A copy of the press release making such announcement is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
