Item 8.01 Other Events.
On May 15, 2006, North State Bank, wholly-owned subsidiary of North State Bancorp, issued a press release announcing the anticipated opening of a loan production office in Wilmington, North Carolina on June 15, 2006. A copy of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein in its entirety by reference.
