Explanation of Responses:

1. Represents the estimated number of share equivalents held by the reporting person in the unitized stock fund included in the Ameren Corporation Savings Investment Plan as of March 31, 2021.

2. Shares sold pursuant to a Rule 10b5-1 trading plan adopted by the reporting person.

3. The price reported above reflects the weighted average sale price. The shares were sold at multiple prices ranging from $81.13 to $81.45. The reporting person undertakes to provide full information regarding the number of shares and prices at which the transaction was effected upon request by the staff of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the issuer, or a security holder of the issuer.

4. Amount includes an additional 9 shares acquired through monthly payroll deductions and 29 shares acquired through reinvested dividends during the first quarter of 2021, as well as 86 accrued dividend equivalents acquired during the first quarter of 2021 pursuant to a dividend reinvestment feature of restricted stock units granted under the issuer's 2014 Omnibus Incentive Compensation Plan.
