Explanation of Responses:

1. On January 12, 2016, the reporting person filed a Form 4 which voluntarily disclosed gifts of Hardinge Inc. common stock made by the reporting person during calendar year 2015. The Form 4 inadvertently omitted gifts made by the reporting person on January 15, 2015. The filing is hereby amended to include the previously omitted gifts.
