Explanation of Responses:

1. Includes 14,116 time-based restricted stock units (RSUs) pursuant to the Coastal Financial Corporation 2018 Omnibus Incentive Plan, 4,072 of which vest in two approximately equal annual installments; 3,085 of which vest in three approximately equal annual installments; 4,270 of which vest in four approximately equal installments; and 2,689 that vest in six approximately equal installments. Each restricted stock unit represents the right to receive one share of common stock upon vesting.

2. Stock options granted pursuant to the Coastal Financial Corp. 2006 Stock Option and Equity Compensation Plan vest in ten approximately equal installments commencing on March 18, 2015.
