(b) On February 8, 2008, The First Marblehead Corporation (the “Corporation”) announced that Andrew J. Hawley will be leaving the Corporation as of February 29, 2008 in connection with an organizational realignment. Mr. Hawley currently serves as an Executive Vice President of the Corporation and as the President of First Marblehead Education Resources, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of the Corporation.
