On November 10, 2003, New Century Bancorp, Inc. (the “Registrant”) released a press release (the “Press Release”) announcing that it anticipates opening of a new branch office of its subsidiary, New Century Bank, before year-end. The new branch office will be located in Goldsboro, North Carolina. Long-time Goldsboro banker T. Glenn Chitty will serve as Senior Vice President and City Executive for New Century Bank in Goldsboro. A copy of the Press Release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 and incorporated by reference into this Item 5.
