| ITEM 2.02 | RESULTS OF OPERATIONS AND FINANCIAL CONDITION. |
On July 30, 2008, New Century Bancorp, Inc. (the “Registrant”) announced financial results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2008. For the second quarter, the Registrant reported net income of $404,000, compared to a net loss of $197,000 for the same period in 2007. A copy of the press release (the “Press Release”) announcing the Registrant’s results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2008, including a table of selected financial information, is included as Exhibit 99.1 hereto and incorporated by reference herein.
