Item 8.01 Other Events.
On July 21, 2005, the company released a press release announcing that CEO Dr. Carl Kukkonen was a speaker at the Office of Naval Research Biomaterials & Environmental Marine Biotech Program Review on July 19-20, 2005 in Arlington, VA; and that a VIASPACE related company, Ionfinity LLC, has a contract with the Office of Naval Research for $717,382 including the base effort and two option follow-on efforts. This contract is dated May 7, 2004 and was amended on April 5, 2005. A copy of the press release is attached to this Form 8-K as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
