Item 5.02. Departure of Directors or Principal Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Principal Officers
(b) On August 1, 2006, Daniel A. Cano, the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of K-Fed Bancorp (the “Company”) and its wholly owned subsidiary, Kaiser Federal Bank, submitted his resignation, effective August 18, 2006. Mr. Cano has accepted a position in the health care industry.
Kay M. Hoveland, the Company’s President and Chief Executive Officer, will serve as acting Chief Financial Officer while the Company conducts a search for Mr. Cano’s permanent successor.
