Non-GAAP reconciliation: pre-tax pre-provision income The Pre-Tax Pre-Provision Income (PPI) tables below present computations of pre-tax pre-provision income from continuing operations excluding certain adjustments (non-GAAP). Regions believes that the presentation of PPI and the exclusion of certain items from PPI provides a meaningful base for period-to- period comparisons, which management believes will assist investors in analyzing the operating results of the Company and predicting future performance. Non-GAAP reconciliation: Adjusted net charge-off ratio Select calculations for annualized net charge-offs as a percentage of average loans (GAAP) are presented in the table below. During the first quarter of 2018, Regions made the strategic decision to sell certain primarily performing troubled debt restructured, as well as, certain non-restructured interest-only residential first mortgage loans.
