On February 21, 2008, Foundation Coal Holdings, Inc. (“Foundation”) issued a press release announcing that an affiliate has successfully bid on a new coal lease adjacent to the western boundary of the Eagle Butte Mine north of Gillette, Wyoming. This Federal coal lease, containing an estimated 255 million tons, is expected to be awarded in the first quarter of 2008. A copy of the press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated by reference into this Form 8-K.
