(NASDAQ: ZUMZ), a leading specialty retailer of action sports related apparel, footwear, equipment and accessories, today announced that total net sales for the five-week period ended October 3, 2009 increased 8.4% to $36.5 million, compared to $33.6 million for the five-week period ended October 4, 2008. The company's comparable store sales decreased 0.8% for the five-week period, versus a comparable store sales decrease of 9.0% in the year ago period. For the nine-week period ended October 3, 2009, the company's comparable store sales decreased 7.7%, versus a 3.6% comparable store sales decrease for the same period last year.
